Still, they loved when I would get these out and it's really fun to have your kids listening and engaged all together. I bought these on a whim because they were so inexpensive and I am glad I did. You can pass them on to someone else when you've gone through all of them, or save them for a year or two and start over and see how the answers change. It was a really low price when I bought them so if you're looking for something fun to do with your kids while you're at the table, or killing time somewhere, these are great. My kids were 6,4,2 and newborn when we got them, so really only my 6 and 4 year olds could participate. Even still, I think you have to be at least 4 and even 5 or 6 years old would be more suitable.
After that, I had to skip like 4-5 cards in order to find another good one. The first few cards were pretty good, but some kids still "passed" on answering. I think this would be good in family settings (which is what is designed for, I think), but not in larger or unfamiliar groups. Got these for those "extra moments" in Children's Church that we need to fill up. Thought it might help build relationships among the kids.
Hopefully they will practice their english. Sending this pack of converstion cards to my 3 grandchildren 8,12 & 14 living in France.
But for the price it's fair enough. I just wish there were more cards. It's great to start converstation with that child that only answer yes or no. Warms up a playdate, brings family fun on a rainy day - instead of TV.
My main issue with these cards, however, is that many of the "facts" listed on the cards are completely incorrect. One could take this in an entirely different educational direction than it was intended, but a research project wasn't what I was looking for. I bought these to use with my kids, but found that they didn't find the ideas at all interesting. Don't beleive everything you read, and particularly with this card deck- find out if the "fact" it lists is truly a "fact". Personal interest varies, of course. It seems to me that we have more interesting conversations than the ones suggested in the deck on a regular basis.
